The International English Language System consists of 4 modules.

• Writing
• Reading
• Listening
• Speaking

The Writing Module consists of 2 tasks. The maximum time allotted to the candidate to complete this module is 1 hour. Candidate should spend 20 minutes on task 1 and 40 minutes on task 2. In task 1, a data is given to the candidate and they have to analyze the data and write about the data in 20 minutes. In task 2, a statement is given to the candidate and they have to express their views regarding that statement within 40 minutes.

The Reading Module contains 3 reading passages. The candidate have to spend 20 minutes on each passage. For better time management, applicant can spend less time on 1st passage and then utilize the remaining time on other passages. The Reading module contains questions like True/False/Not Given, Yes/No/Not Given, Fill in the blanks, list of Headings etc.

The Listening Module contains 4 tasks having 10 questions each. In this module an audio will be played and the candidates have to answer the questions accordingly. This module contains questions like Fill in the blanks, Answer the questions, diagram labelling etc.

The Speaking Module of the examination also contains 3 tasks. First task contains some general questions with the applicant. In the 2nd task, applicant have to speak on a topic and the questions related to this topic will be discussed among applicant and examiner in the 3rd task.
